Coz’ deep inside this armor, the warrior is a child.
Many of you may know the song, but let me rephrase it my way. Coz’ deep inside this armor the worrier is a child. The best description of myself because I am blinded with worries.
I have no expectations or let me say anticipations for my first mission trip (outside of my comfort zones). All I have is a heart and mind open to what the Lord offers me. It was Thursday evening when we headed South of Luzon dealing with departing storm that night. I was so brave at that time to face the storm saying to myself “no storm can stop me to go where the Lord wants me” with the assurance that my co-SFL’s are praying for us. And so we go on of our travel to Virac, Catanduanes. Fears rushing by on me when we still at Sariaya, Quezon seeing those small vehicles can’t get through the current of the flood, wind speed and the traffic jam that almost collide with another bus. Here I go again cover with worries of unavoidable calamity, so I prayed and surrender everything to God.
Another day brings hope because the sun shines upon us. The worries I had last night vanished. It was my first time to step into the island of Catanduanes and was welcome warmly. No expectations comes great surprises because we received a grandeur accommodations from our host couple. The people there received us with arms wide open just like Christ did.
