Serving in No One In Need (NONe) is more than just taking part in a construction project; it is a reminder and a perfect reflection on how to build and live in a constant relationship with God.
I was humbled to experience being sent out for mission in Tagbilaran, Bohol last May 2-4, 2014 and for “ No One in Need’s JUAN Weekend” and join the Habitat for Humanity program in rebuilding houses for our less fortunate brothers and sisters. We were able to be with different youth and church organizations and celebrities for a jam-packed program that Saturday cared of Habitat for Humanity team. It wasn’t really something tough than what we, in the CFC FFL community, usually do in conducting events but certainly it is one of my unforgettable moments which I will genuinely treasure. Aside from that being my first time to be sent out for Visayas mission, I know for a fact that it is really something special that the Lord has prepared for me. I was just so blessed to witness the warmth and divinity of the Christian community that we want to be a part of, firsthand. That made me so easy to love our neighbors; the divine welcome never really fails for every Filipinos. The sacrifices and inconveniences, whether big or small, are all definitely worth it as I opened my eyes, my mind and my heart to what God wants me to see, think and feel during that moment.
Truly, NO typhoon is stronger than FAITH that the Filipino has in their hearts. NO calamity can quench the fire of our HOPES. It taught me to give tirelessly and just simply expect to be blessed immeasurably by the people we encounter every day and everywhere.
Thank You, Father for opening the floodgates of heaven to rain down blessings to every typhoon victims. Your unconditional love really showed up to our fellow brothers and sisters as they restore their lives. Your grace is more than enough and I’m overwhelmed for the mighty works of Your hands.
That weekend made me realize that NONe Movement really has a name, a voice and most importantly to be recognized. This is a blessing that God showered upon us, not just by tangible things we can offer but it is inward and something that will last forever. It is only by doing ordinary things with great love that you can set a benchmark to everyone.
And I have nothing but gratitude in my heart for this season in my life. May the Lord continue to manifest in me and to all missionaries around the world that we may lift Your Name on high all the days of our lives.
With Faith I declare that this year I will see more of Your glory.
