CFC SFL Mission Volunteer, Sweden
I have been blessed to have been able to visit and serve in every Nordic area for the past year. God provided for me each time. He has fixed my schedule so that I will be free every weekend and blessed me to afford every mission.
It started last year when I served in YFL Iceland’s PDA. Then later I visited our non-filipino community in south of Sweden twice. First an acitivity which we costumed for the participants and a few months later we had a youth camp there. The challenge for them was to lead the youth camp for the first time, and we had many new speakers. What is inspiring with YFL Skåne is all the work they are doing without coordinators. I honor them a lot.
I also went to Finland for camp training and for serving at their youth camp. Last year I was there a lot to help out. We built YFL up, they were only 2 members for so many years. Now they are around 20 members. They have established a band…I’m just really inspired by Finland!
Last month, I was in Norway. The last time I served there (not including the congress last year) was 6 years ago haha! I was privileged to give 2 talks during their SHOUT and serve at the Nordic Echo Congress. Norway’s communtiy is really inspiring!
Yesterday I arrived back home from being in Denmark. Actually when I booked my ticket, my intentions was just to get to know the community there. To scout around and see how it is there. Well we had a household leaderstraining, and I gave 3 talks. Played the guitar during worship for the first time (praise God though that they knew the few songs I know how to play hehe) and I even “sang” reflection. I had to really go out of my comfort zone. Speaking of comfort zone, I had the help of Stefan, YFL Skåne to give a talk during the HHLT. It was his first mission and his first time to give a talk in English. He gave a talk for SFLs. So that was a major challenge. It was also my first SFL mission.
Like I wrote before about how God provides. At first I thought I had to do all the 4 talks by myself…but God provided with anothe speaker. Praise Him!
It has been a really great year! It was great to see how much God has worked here in Nordic. I don’t know why He chose me to serve in every area in Nordic. But whenever I felt down, because I didn’t have the opportunity to serve in SFL here, He sent me abroad. To do His work abroad instead, to get my nourishment there. I have enjoyed and I do love serving in Nordic! I love going on missions and I have fallen inlove with my new mission area, Denmark.
Thanks to the SFL coordinators and thanks for all the prayers and support.
May God be praised.
