Pope Francis, during one of his general audiences at St. Peter’s square, said:

Jesus was born in a family. He could have come in a spectacular way, or as a warrior, an emperor…. No, no: he is born in a family, in a family. This is important: to perceive in the nativity, this beautiful scene.

God really values the family so much that He chose it as a way to bring His Son into this world. God has brought salvation to us through a family.

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines declared this year as the Year of the Eucharist and the Family. And so this year, our church calls the Filipino families to become missionary disciples of the Eucharist.

However, for this mission to be fulfilled, the mission should start with our families. Let us welcome Jesus Christ in our homes by making it truly a home.

Spiritual-Maturity-or-Infancy

The Suggested Chapter Teaching And Household Topics for July 2016 are Now Available

We started our spiritual lives as infants. But God did not desire for us to remain that way. God’s plan is birth, growth, and maturity.

A human baby may do immature things and be cute, but it would not be so for an adult. Let us examine ourselves, in our spirituality, are we an infant or an adult?

When we were young in our spiritual life, people will tend to give us more understanding as we are still growing in the faith. However, when we have spent significant time in community, much is expected of us in terms of our spiritual maturity.

Having a Heart Like Jesus

The Suggested Chapter Teaching And Household Topics for June 2016 are Now Available

When you look at yourself in the water, you will see your own image. It is an actual representation of who you are. It shows and reflect your true image.

And just like the water which reflects our image, our words and actions also reflect the inner disposition of our heart. We reflect our own heart by our actions and the things that we care for. Whatever comes out of a person defines who they are.

As Christians, we should strive for our hearts to reflect Jesus and have a heart like Jesus. As it is said, in the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks. If we have Jesus in our hearts, it will come out in our words and actions. But there are times that our hearts are sometimes blocked by so many things like worries, anxieties, fear that causes us to be afraid to have a heart like Jesus

The Lord has set the greatest life of adventure for us. He has planned for us something that is greater what you can ever imagine. The Lord reminds us in 1 Corinthians 2:9 that, “…What eye has not seen, and ear has not heard and what has not entered the human heart is what God has prepared for those who love him.” And the Lord sends endless opportunities that lead us to these greatest life adventures.
